  • Explore the concepts of culture and how they are related to literacy development; 
  • Define academic language and explore the relationship to academic literacy; 
  • Analyze how academic language impacts instruction; 
  •  Identify how text complexity is related to academic language; 
  • Explore instructional supports to help students develop academic literacy.
